Kiri (Syed Kirmani) and I have known each other prior to our cricketing careers growing up back home in Hyderabad. He was an exceptional athlete and a team player, and I haven’t mentioned how good of a wicket keeper he was. His wicket keeping against West Indies during the ‘83 World Cup Final was vital in helping India achieve its first ever Cricket World Cup in history. In my opinion, Syed Kirmani turned out to be one of the finest wicket keepers that India has represented in the game of Cricket.
